I & G Steam Sundry products

The budding steam engineer/driver will need some extra bit and pieces to make life a little more comfortable when running and preparing miniature steam locomotives. With the best will in the world things will get broken. The most delicate item aboard is arguably the little pressure gauge. I & G Steam stock a small range of the 3/4" diameter dial pressure gauges in several ranges from 0-30psi up to 0-80psi full scale deflection which are purchased direct from the manufacturers here in Britain. Yes these items are still made here.

The steam engineer/driver will also need a gas adaptor fitting to enable him/her to fuel up the locomotives from a standard gas canister. To cover most configurations and types of locomotive these are available in three lengths from very short to full height of cab, all being compatible with the SAE standard thread found on disposable gas canisters.

It may be that the the driver with experience will want to keep the locomotive in steam for longer periods than one boiler fill will sustain. A very simple one way valve is available from us which replaces the normal boiler fill plug and the boiler can be topped up whilst in steam from a simple plant spray type bottle fitted with a length of nylon tube. Units are available from us.

Under development and test is a pressurised bottle with a light trigger action to minimise the risk of repetitive strain injuries when a simple pump bottle is used to fill/top up on a regular basis the larger boilers falling within the scope of garden railways.

Much larger scale models are usually fitted with axle driven pumps with by-pass systrems or injectors to keep the water level correct whilst in steam.

Prices lists are available on request.
