LGB Products

lgb logoLGB is the famous "Lehman Gross Bahn" which came out of the E.P.Lehman toy company in Nuremburg in 1968. This range is reputed to have really set the garden railway movement going both here in Europe and North America.

Sadly over the last two years the company have had difficulties but have now been sold in their entirety to the venture capital group behind the Marklin group (also German based). Marklin have moved very quickly to re-establish LGB as a leader in the field and we are pleased to announce that we have already received several deliveries of new stock and that Marklin plan to have the full range back on stream by April 2008.

It should be noted that these products in general are made to the scale of 1:22.5 based on mainland Europe metre gauge practice. When related to British outline STANDARD gauge practice, models which are built to this scale run on 2 1/2" gauge rails. Whilst this is typically the smallest useful gauge for live steam haulage of 12 inches to the foot people, in this context we are talking about scenic lines and it is known as gauge three.

At present the website for the vast range which is LGB is being rebuilt but it is worthwhile checking www.lgb.de for progress, or call us.
